The idea
"Smile Project" is a manifesto to the power that a simple smile has on a person's state of mind.
No matter how bad you feel, or how bad you are going through, a smile is capable of lifting you
out of that bottomless pit and giving you the necessary courage to fight to be better.
Smile Project is a personal project that has helped me to move forward despite the problems
and low spirits that life gives us, and it is my way of helping and contributing to others that simple
but powerful idea that we never have to stop smiling.
The challenge
Get to capture this idea so "happy flower " , in a new way without falling into the typical "naive" imaginary put into fashion by Mr. Wonderful.
And at the same time reach a wide range of people of different kinds.
The result
After much research, I realized that associating this idea with some
of the icons of our childhood and other more current, it would be
the ideal way to connect with our "inner child" and that natural happiness
that inspires us to smile, without it being so cheesy.
So I got down to work and started drawing characters from comic, manga,
and videogames from different eras, in a transversal environment and always smiling,
under the motto "c'mon Smile! never lose that"
After a quick poll, everyone who saw the project smiled at least with one
of the illustrations, the one that made them remember that point in his childhood
where there were no worries, just fun. Because it's worth it remember that we must
never lose our smile
